The PhD Marketing, Events, and Tourism programme at the University of Greenwich is flexible, usually taking 1.5 to 4 years for full-time students and 2.5 to 7 years for part-time students. This course allows students to carry out advanced research in areas like digital marketing, tourism policy, hospitality management, and event innovation. They have the chance to work closely with experienced supervisors and use facilities like the Digital Marketing Suite, which gives hands-on experience with industry-standard tools.
During the programme, students will learn advanced research methods and improve skills in critical thinking, analysis, and communication. They will be assessed on their thesis and their ability to give oral presentations on their research findings. Additionally, students will be part of the Postgraduate Researcher Development Programme (PGRDP), which offers both required and optional sessions to help enhance research skills.
Graduates of this programme can pursue careers in various fields, including academia, research, marketing, event management, and tourism. Other job opportunities may be found in public relations, hospitality consultancy, and policy development.
