LLM International Commercial Law

University of Greenwich

Course overview

The Master of Laws (LLM) in International and Commercial Law at the University of Greenwich investigates how legal systems operate beyond national borders, especially in relation to public international law and global markets. Students will examine the regulation of global trade, cross-border commerce, and the legal issues that arise within the international community. There are three endorsed pathways students get to choose from: Business, Human Rights & the Environment; Intellectual Property; and Ocean Law & Policy. To complete an endorsed pathway, students must take a 30-credit core module relevant to that track and write their dissertation in the same area.

This course covers modules such as International Trade Law, Commercial Arbitration, Dissertation, Research Methods in Law, Competition Law, Intellectual Property Law, Banking and Finance Law. These modules are delivered through lectures, seminars, and independent study, and are assessed through coursework, class presentations, extended essays, and a dissertation. Upon completing their degree, students may enrol in a Juris Doctor (JD) programme at Mitchell Hamline School of Law (USA).
