BSc Biomedical Science Extended
Course overview
This four-year Biomedical Science degree begins with a Foundation Year, offering lower entry requirements, which is a good route if Students lack the standard qualifications. The course examines human health and disease, focusing on how diseases work, diagnostic testing, and treatments. It is officially approved by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), a main professional body.
Students will learn through lectures, small discussion groups, and hands-on laboratory work, using real-life clinical case studies, with chances for fieldwork and international placements. Their knowledge is tested using formal assessments that decide their final grade, along with practice assignments that help track their progress. The course prepares students for jobs in the healthcare sector.
