LLM Law and Technology
Course overview
The University of Essex offers a Master’s programme in Law and Technology that explains the legal system and how technology functions within it. The course covers topics like online security, data protection, and intellectual property rights.
Students will learn about laws that govern personal data, such as the GDPR and CCPA, which focus on how personal information is used after it is collected. The curriculum also addresses how copyright and trademark laws apply to software and digital content.
Additionally, the programme teaches how to negotiate for technology licenses and digital services. By the end of the course, students will gain the skills to develop technology products and handle legal challenges.
