BSc Psychology
Course overview
The three-year BSc Psychology at the University of Derby is officially approved by the British Psychological Society (BPS). This approval is the first step Students need to take to become chartered psychologists. The course focuses heavily on research and covers all the main subjects in psychology. Student teachers are experts in topics like mental health, compassion, and addiction. Students also have the choice to add a placement year to gain professional work experience.
Teachers include their newest research findings directly into students' lessons, and students can take part in modern research projects. Students will be marked using a blend of practical and written work, such as essays, presentations, and reports. Students may also have to sit some exams. The university offers special teaching areas, including a psychology and counselling suite that has observation rooms.
