Course overview

The BSc Sport Business Management at the University of Lancashire is an undergraduate degree designed for students who want to work in the business side of sport. The course explores management, finance, strategy, operations and economics within the sport sector. Students learn how sport organisations operate, how brands and events are managed and how business skills apply to sport. By the end of the degree, graduates are prepared for roles in sport business, event management, marketing and sports operations. The full-time programme is taught at the Preston campus.

In the early years, students study core business management topics such as marketing, finance, operations, strategy, and sports business contexts. In later years, they move on to specialised modules such as global sport branding, sponsorship, sport operations, sport economics, and a significant project or dissertation. The programme also offers work experience opportunities and links with sports organisations, enabling students to gain real-world insight. Students are taught through lectures, seminars, workshops, and practical tasks focused on sports business.
