MA Architecture

The MA Architecture course at the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) is a special program for students who want to take their love of architecture to the next level. This course can be finished in one year if you study full-time or in two years if you study part-time. You will work on your own projects and ideas in a studio setting while also learning from your teachers and classmates. The program includes subjects like green and sustainable design, city planning, using new building materials, and designing spaces for people. You’ll do hands-on work, group projects, and research to help you build a strong portfolio. This portfolio will show future employers or schools what you can do. By the end of the course, you will have more confidence in your design skills and a deeper understanding of what architecture means today.

You will learn through studio work, classes, group discussions, and special guest lectures. There are no big final exams. Instead, you will be graded based on your design work, essays, presentations, and your final design project. This final project is your chance to show everything you've learnt in a creative and detailed design. You will also practice how to talk about your ideas clearly and explain your design choices. Grade Requirements:
Applicants should hold a good undergraduate degree in architecture, interior design, spatial design, or a related subject. A strong portfolio of creative or architectural work is essential. Relevant professional experience or alternative qualifications may be considered on a case-by-case basis. 

English Proficiency:

International students must also meet English language requirements (typically an IELTS overall score of 6.5, with a minimum of 5.5 in each section or equivalent).

In 2025/26, the annual tuition fee to study the MA Architecture at the University for the Creative Arts is £18,000 per year for international students. UCA offers flexible payment options and advice for managing living costs while studying.

UCA provides a variety of scholarships and funding opportunities for MA architecture students. These include the Creative Development Scholarship for outstanding applicants with strong portfolios.
