BEng Electronic and Electrical Engineering

Swansea University

Course overview

This three-year undergraduate BEng degree is key to understanding how Electronic and Electrical Engineering shapes the modern world, covering everything from global mobile networks to electric cars and renewable energy sources. The programme is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). Students will study core areas such as Semiconductors and Nanotechnology, Energy and Power Engineering, and Communications, Systems and Software, preparing them for highly skilled roles across the globe.

Students will develop essential analytical skills and gain hands-on experience in amazing research spaces on the Bay Campus, such as the famous Wolfson Power Electronics Lab. Their learning includes a mix of lectures, practical lab time, and project work, all using the kind of industry-standard equipment they'd find on the job. Students can choose to make their degree four years by adding a year working in the industry or spending a year abroad at another university.
