BSc Policing and Criminal Investigation

Course Overview

This course is for anyone interested in how investigations work and how crimes are investigated. It gets them ready for many jobs in both government and private companies. The BSc (Hons) Policing and Criminal Investigation degree gives students great skills in investigating and a good understanding of policing. It aims to prepare students for investigative jobs in different places. Students will learn from expert staff and use top-notch facilities like a Crime Scene House, Interview Rooms, and Fake Courtrooms. The university also has strong links with employers.

Students will practice their skills in special simulation areas that cost £2.2 million. These spaces allow students to do realistic tasks, like examining crime scenes, talking to witnesses, and putting together cases. They will also learn about Policing Theory, practical ways to investigate, and how to check digital evidence. For grading, students will often have practice tests to help them, and then official assignments such as essays, reports, presentations, and written exams. The course teaches about crime theories, laws, police practices, and procedures.
