Film and Theatre Making BA
Queen's University BelfastBelfast, United Kingdom
Course overview
The BA in Film and Theatre Making combines the strengths of Queen’s highly regarded Film and Drama departments, offering students a unique opportunity to study the intricacies of production practice in both film and theatre. Over the three years of the programme, students will learn the basics of directing and acting, along with technical and production elements for both stage and screen. We offer students an industry-responsive, interdisciplinary education, with many opportunities to connect with industry professionals through guest lectures, workshops, placement experiences and through attending film screenings and professional theatre productions.
In addition to the advancement of practical skills across film and theatre-making, the programme aims to enable students to explore the broader social and cultural dimensions of these art forms. The Drama team is deeply committed to student support and pastoral care, guiding learners through the transition to higher education and offering sustained career-focused advice and training throughout the programme. This holistic approach ensures that graduates are not only equipped with advanced academic and practical skills but also prepared to contribute meaningfully to the professional film and theatre landscape and beyond.
