MSc Nursing Learning Disabilities
Course overview
This is a two-year, full-time Master’s degree designed as an accelerated route for graduates who wish to qualify as Registered Learning Disabilities Nurses with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). The programme prepares students to deliver high-quality care to people with learning disabilities at every stage of life, developing advanced professional knowledge and modern nursing skills.
The course follows a balanced structure, with 50% of time spent in university-based study and 50% in hands-on clinical placements within real healthcare environments. Teaching includes lectures, workshops, and small-group sessions delivered in high-quality university facilities. Assessment is based on a combination of essays, presentations, practical assessments (OSCEs), and a final research project.
