Nottingham Trent University

BSc Pharmacology with foundation year

Nottingham Trent University

Course overview

This BSc Pharmacology programme includes a Foundation Year designed for students who do not currently meet the standard academic entry requirements for a full degree. The Foundation Year prepares students for university-level study, focusing on Applied Biology, Data Handling, and core scientific principles of Physics and Chemistry. Successfully completing the foundation year allows students to automatically move on to the main BSc Pharmacology course.

The next three years of the degree focus on the science of drugs, teaching students how medicines impact living systems, fight disease, and contribute to the drug discovery process. The course is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology and is designed to comply with the British Pharmacological Society guidelines. Students have the option to take an extra work placement year in industry.
