MEng Mechanical Engineering with foundation year

The MEng Mechanical Engineering (with Foundation Year) at London South Bank University provides students with the academic, practical, and study skills required to succeed at degree level. The foundation year builds a strong base in mathematics, engineering science, laboratory skills, and scientific principles, ensuring smooth progression into the full MEng programme.

Teaching is delivered through lectures, seminars, tutorials, and practical work. Assessments combine coursework, exams, laboratory work, and projects. In the final year, students undertake a major research project. This integrated Master’s degree prepares graduates for professional careers in mechanical engineering.

Applicants must submit a personal statement outlining their motivation for the course, as well as an academic or employer reference. A CV can also be uploaded to demonstrate relevant work experience.

Grade Requirements:

• 64 UCAS tariff points.
• GCSE Mathematics at grade C / 4 or above (or equivalent).

English Proficiency:

• IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with no component below 5.5.
• Alternatives such as TOEFL or Pearson PTE are also accepted.

For international students, the tuition fee is £15,500 per year. Tuition fees are reviewed annually and may be subject to change.
