Overview

The BEng Computer Systems Engineering and Robotics prepare students for roles in autonomous and intelligent systems. The course focuses on the design, development, and programming of microprocessor and microcontroller-based computer systems. It also allows students to specialise in computer networking or distributed and internet systems.

Students learn using theory and practical work, with the option of a work placement using a real client's project. Students are assessed through coursework reports, case studies, individual and group research assignments, written and laboratory-based examinations and a final engineering project or dissertation.

The programme gives students access to specialised laboratories for electronics, computer-aided design (CAD), embedded systems, and digital systems. The course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

Entry Requirements

Candidates need to submit a personal statement and relevant information regarding their studies, an academic and/or employer reference and their CVs to show their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • Candidates need A-level at grade CCD or equivalent with a minimum of 88 UCAS points in relevant subjects such as mathematics, physics, science or computer studies.
  • Other international equivalent qualifications are also accepted.

English Proficiency:

  • Overall score of 6.0 in the IELTS test, with a minimum of 5.5 in each section.
  • PTE Academic and TOEFL IBT are also accepted.
