MSc Public Health

Course Overview

Liverpool John Moores University’s MSc Public Health is based on current research and follows the Public Health Skills and Career Framework. The course will help students build practical skills, understand population health, and reduce health inequalities. Students will learn from core areas such as policy, epidemiology, health improvement, and research methods, with placements and work-based learning in public health environments.

Students will be assessed with essays, reports, poster presentations, exams and a dissertation which will allow them to apply what they have learnt through practice. Students will have access to personal tutors and dissertation supervisors, with excellent facilities and social spaces at the Public Health Institute located in the City Campus.

  • Candidates typically need an Honours degree of at least 2.2 in a health or social science-related course. 
  • If you do not have a degree in the related courses, the university may consider equivalent professional qualifications or experience.

English Proficiency:

  • Liverpool John Moores University accepts an IELTS score of 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each section.
  • Other English language test scores, such as PTE and TOEFL IBT, are accepted, amongst others.
