BSc Sport Psychology

The BSc Sports Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University will allow students to explore the foundations of psychology in relation to sport and exercise. Students will learn to  understand the role that psychology plays in enhancing athletic performance,  promoting physical activity and nurturing healthy behaviours.

The course explores academic knowledge and practical application in sport psychology, analyses psychological issues across a range of sport psychology settings (from local communities to high performance environments) and examines research evidence in the field. 

Students may also choose an applied placement, giving them the opportunities to spend a part of their final year working with a sports organisation. This experience helps them develop transferable skills essential in most careers, such as critical evaluation, as well as verbal and written communication.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants are expected to hold 80 UCAS tariff points obtained through A-Level at grades BBC-CDD. Other equivalent qualifications such as the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma are also accepted. 

English Proficiency:

• Applicants whose first language is not English need an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component, or equivalent qualifications such as TOEFL and PTE.

For international students enrolling in the BSc Sports Psychology at John Moores University, the tuition fee for the 2025/26 academic session is £18,250.
