Course overview
The BSc Building Surveying at Liverpool John Moores University is designed to enable students to graduate as fully accredited professionals with relevant industry experience. Students will acquire the necessary skills in key areas such as property refurbishment and conservation, while also gaining experience in building design, management, maintenance, and surveys throughout the lifecycle of a building.

They will develop into technically competent but practical surveyors who are capable of giving advice on subjects ranging from repair diagnosis to building design to legal representation in court.
The course is built around work experience and project tasks that simulate real working practices, giving students the knowledge and practical skills to launch their careers as building surveyors.
Entry requirements
To apply for this course, you need to write a personal statement. In this statement, explain your reasons for wanting to be at Liverpool John Moores University. Also, include any important details about your previous education. You will also need to provide a reference letter from a teacher or an employer. If you have any relevant work experience, you can also include your CV with your application.
Grade Requirements:
- Applicants are expected to hold 80 UCAS tariff points obtained through qualifications such as A-Level, BTEC Extended Diploma and International Baccalaureate.
English Proficiency:
- If English is not the first language you speak, you need to get a score of 6.0 overall in the IELTS test. You must score at least 5.5 in each part of the test.
- The university also accepts similar scores from other English language tests like PTE or TOEFL.
