BSc Biology

The BSc Biology at Liverpool John Moores University is a three-year undergraduate degree programme accredited by the Royal Society of Biology. Students learn how living things work from the smallest cell to whole ecosystems. This course suits large interests, from genes and microbes to the way animals behave.

Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) began in 1823 as the Liverpool Mechanics’ School of Arts and became a university in 1992. It has more than 27,000 students from over 100 countries. It is one of the biggest universities in the UK and has two city campuses, with a modern Student Life Building and sports centre between them.

The School of Biological and Environmental Sciences supports biology students with excellent new labs and teaching spaces. These include DNA labs, microscopes, sequencing tools, and drone pilots for fieldwork. LJMU trains students well and provides lots of support. Grade Requirements:

• Students need 80 UCAS points from A-levels. One should be in a science subject.
• The course accepts Access to HE, BTECs, or other equivalent qualifications.

English Proficiency:

• International students must show English language proficiency equivalent to an overall IELTS score of 6.0 with no individual component scoring below 5.5.
