Course overview

The MSc Game Development (Programming) at Kingston University London is designed to equip students with the technical skills needed to create professional gaming experiences. The programme also focuses on building computer games independently using standard production management tools and modules like 3D Game Programming, Connected Games Development, and Machine Learning.

Students will benefit from advanced facilities, including a games laboratory equipped with Sony PlayStation 5 development consoles and software such as Visual Studio 2022, Unreal Engine 5, and Unity. During the programme, students will also be granted access to the Centre for Virtual and Augmented Reality Environments (CAVE) for developing applications across various virtual reality headsets.

Entry requirements

Interested students are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information about their studies. An academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students can also upload their CVs along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants need at least a second-class lower degree from an undergraduate course or five and above years of relevant work experience.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants whose first language is not English need to have an overall academic score of 6.5 on the IELTS test with at least 6.0 in each part.
  • English tests like the TOEFL are also accepted
