MEng Aerospace Engineering

Course Overview

The MEng Aerospace Engineering is a four-year full-time degree, or five years with an optional placement year, accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society. It satisfies the full academic requirements for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status and Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status.

Students study aerodynamics, propulsion, structures, dynamics, materials and control, applying theory through laboratory work, CAD and CFD workshops, group and individual design projects, and a flight test course onboard Kingston’s flying laboratory aircraft.

Students are assessed through written exams and continuous coursework such as reports, computer exercises, laboratory assignments, design tasks, and group projects with facilities such as a rocket propulsion test lab, manufacturing workshops (including CNC), 3D rapid‑prototype printing, wind tunnels, a mission‑control room, flight simulators and a satellite ground station.

Entry Requirements for Bangladeshi Students

Applicants must submit a personal statement explaining their reasons for applying and relevant academic or professional experience. A reference from an academic or employer is also required, and applicants have the option to upload their CVs to show their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants need A-level grades ABB–AAA, including Mathematics and two sciences, or 128–144 UCAS tariff points from equivalent qualifications.

  • Applicants with a Pearson BTEC Extended Diploma in Engineering (DDM–DDD) or other relevant engineering qualifications, such as an Access to HE Diploma with specified credits, are also accepted.

English Proficiency:

  • Candidates without an English-speaking background need an IELTS score of 6.5 and a minimum of 5.5 in each section.
  • An equivalent Secure English Language Test (SELT) is also accepted.

Cost of Study

International students pay a tuition fee of £18,500 in the first year, which is subject to an increase in later years.

Scholarships

Kingston University offers a range of scholarships and bursaries for undergraduate students, including international scholarships. One such is a £5,000 international scholarship for eligible applicants, which is deducted from tuition, either from the final instalment or upfront payment.
