BEng Civil Engineering
Course overview
The BEng Civil Engineering at Kingston University is a three-year programme that holds accreditation from the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM). The course fully prepares students to become an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and provides a strong foundation to become a Chartered Engineer (CEng).
The programme helps students develop skills like geotechnical and hydraulics testing, using surveying equipment, and working with computer design facilities. It also involves making models, engineering drawings, and applying structural design software to real-world situations. Students will be assessed through coursework, practical exercises, written reports, presentations, examinations, and a significant individual project in their final year.
Entry requirements
Interested students are required to submit a personal statement explaining the reasons for applying to the course and providing other relevant details about their studies. An academic or employer reference is also needed. Students can also include their CVs to show their work experience.
Grade Requirements:
- Applicants need between 112-128 UCAS tariff points from A Levels, a BTEC Extended Diploma, an overall Merit in a T Level, or an International Baccalaureate.
- International qualifications equivalent to A-levels are also accepted.
English Proficiency:
- Applicants from non-English-speaking countries must demonstrate their English language skills by achieving an overall score of 6.0 in the IELTS, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.
- Other English language qualifications, like TOEFL, are also accepted.
