BSc Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences

This is a three-year, full-time programme for anyone passionate about sports, physical activity, and exercise, and who wants to use science to promote health. Students will get a practical understanding of sport, health, and exercise sciences, with plenty of hands-on experience in real situations. Students will discover how physical activity and exercise can help prevent, manage, and treat various physical and mental health issues. They will also learn about using technology to promote health.

The programme is very practical, with learning taking place in special laboratories for studying how the body moves (biomechanics), how it functions (physiology), and how the mind works (psychology). Students' progress will be assessed through practical workshops, essays, presentations, and lab reports. While there are written exams, they'll never count for more than half of the student's grade in any subject.

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement where they discuss their reasons for applying for the course. A relevant academic or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CVs to show their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

• For this course, applicants need between 104 and 112 UCAS Tariff points. This can be achieved through various qualifications, such as A-Levels or a Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma.

English Proficiency:

• If English is not an applicant's first language, they need an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with no individual component below 5.5. The university also accepts other equivalent English language qualifications.

For international students, the annual tuition fee for this full-time undergraduate programme at Edge Hill University is £17,000.

Edge Hill University offers various scholarships and financial support to help international students. All full-time students from overseas who pay international fees are automatically considered for a scholarship when they apply for a course. This means applicants do not need to fill out a separate form for some awards. For undergraduate students, there are general Undergraduate Development Scholarships, which can offer up to £3,000 off first year's tuition fees.

Additionally, if international students pay their full tuition fees early, they might receive an International Early Payment Discount of £500. For postgraduate students from specific countries, the university partners with the British Council for "GREAT Scholarships," which can provide a £10,000 off tuition fees.
