BSc Psychology

Course Overview

The BSc Psychology at Edge Hill University teaches you how the mind works and why people think, feel, and act the way they do. You will study topics such as memory, emotions, and mental health, and learn how psychology is applied in real-life settings.

In your first year, you will begin by studying the brain and behaviour, while also building important academic and personal skills. In your second year, you will learn more about the main areas of psychology and practise how to carry out research and work with data. In your final year, you will do a research project on a topic that interests you and choose from optional subjects to match your goals.

Studying BSc Psychology at Edge Hill University also gives you the chance to join real research projects, take part in activities with the Psychology Society, and learn from experienced staff. The course is approved by the British Psychological Society (BPS), which means it can help you take the first step towards becoming a professional psychologist.
