BEng Engineering

Course Overview

The BEng in Engineering at Edge Hill University is designed for individuals who want to pursue careers in several engineering disciplines, as they will learn skills needed to give them a strong foundation in different engineering fields. Graduates of this course will also automatically attain the status of Incorporated Engineer (IEng).

The learning areas in this course include electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical engineering and robotics. The students will engage with subjects such as computer-aided engineering, applied mathematics, advanced programming, control systems, embedded systems, power systems, and engineering management.

Teaching methods involve students working with their peers in workshops, seminars, group tutorials and practical exercises. Edge Hill University is located in Ormskirk, Lancashire, England. It was established in 1885  and was granted Taught Degree Awarding Powers by the Privy Council, and became Edge Hill University on 18 May 2006. Since then, the university has sustained a good reputation for providing quality education in different academic disciplines.

Entry Requirements for Bangladeshi Students

Applicants are to submit a personal statement detailing their interest in engineering and relevant academic or professional experience. A reference letter from an academic source or employer is required. Applicants may also upload a CV to show previous experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants typically require 112–120 UCAS Tariff points from A‑Levels, BTEC, T Levels, or IB.
  • Alternatively, other relevant international equivalent qualifications are considered.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants who are non-English speakers require an IELTS score of 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.
  • Equivalent English language qualification tests like PTE and TOEFL are accepted.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for the BEng in Engineering at Edge Hill University is currently £17,000 per year for international students. Tuition fees are reviewed annually and may change in upcoming years.

Scholarships

Edge Hill University offers an Undergraduate Development Scholarship for international students, worth a £3,000 reduction on first‑year tuition. The university also offers scholarships to students with special sports-related talents.
