BA International Business

The BA International Business at De Montfort University helps students gain the necessary knowledge and skills to deal with global trade and business challenges. This course lasts three years if studied full-time, or four years if it includes a placement year. It focuses on international business strategies, cross-border trade, and the various laws and politics that affect global business.

Students benefit from a block teaching method that allows them to focus on one subject at a time. The main modules that they will interact with during their time studying the course include Global Business Environment, International Trade Management, International Supply Chain Management, and Marketing for International Business. These subjects help students develop important skills such as strategic thinking, financial analysis, and leadership.

Furthermore, during the programme, students learn to analyse international markets, create global business strategies, and manage operations across borders. The course also includes hands-on experiences like live industry competitions, case studies, and guest talks from business leaders. Graduates can find jobs in various fields, including international trade, global marketing, supply chain management, finance, and consulting.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants are required to have a minimum of 112 UCAS points from qualifications that are equivalent to A Levels. This can include BTEC or the IB diploma, which should have at least 26 points overall.

English Proficiency:

• For those whose first language is not English, an overall IELTS score of 6.0 is necessary, with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill area. 
• Other equivalent test scores are also considered.

For the 2025/26 academic year, international students who enrol in the De Montfort University BA International Business programme will need to pay a tuition fee of £16,250 each year. Those who wish to include a placement year will pay an additional fee of £1,905. Keep in mind that these fees may increase each year throughout the duration of the course.

At De Montfort University, international students can find several scholarship options to help with their tuition costs. The Global Access Scholarship provides a £2,000 tuition fee reduction for eligible applicants in both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Additionally, students who pay their full tuition early can benefit from a £500 discount. 

The Global Partnership Scholarship is also available for students transferring from DMU's global partners, offering a fee reduction or a full scholarship for one year of study. Moreover, DMU offers the Postgraduate Alumni Scholarship, granting a 20% discount on certain postgraduate courses for former undergraduate students from DMU.
