MSc Biotechnology

The MSc Biotechnology programme at Coventry University helps students to improve their skills and understanding of biotechnology. Students can choose to specialise in a key area such as industrial and environmental biotechnology, molecular biology, or vaccinology and immunotherapy. A key part of the course is a major, original research project that students plan, conduct, and present.

The programme uses an interactive, hands-on approach to teaching in labs. It also includes two modules on digital literacy, and students get a certificate when they complete them. Students have the choice of doing a professional work placement for up to one year after their initial studies. The learning methods include practical sessions, lectures, group work, and independent study. Grade Requirements:

• Applicants need an honours degree with a 2:2 or higher (or the international equivalent) in a subject related to biotechnology, bioscience, or biological chemistry.

English Proficiency:

• Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds need to have an overall IELTS score of 6.5, with no individual component score lower than 5.5.

The tuition fee for the full-time MSc Biotechnology programme for international students is £18,600 per year.

Coventry University offers several scholarships and discounts for postgraduate students. These include the Vice-Chancellor Postgraduate Scholarship, which is for international students and is available for certain start dates. All Coventry University graduates can also receive an Alumni Discount, which gives them a 25% reduction on their postgraduate course fees. The university also has an EU Support Bursary that makes tuition fees for eligible EU students the same as for UK students. For students with high-level sporting ability, a limited number of Sports Scholarships are also available.
