About University

Entry Requirements

Sufficient computer programming experience is required to study this course. 

Grade Requirements: 

  • A first-class or upper second honours degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, and Computer Science or other relevant disciplines is required. 
  • Candidates with a 2:2 in relevant subject areas with 3 or more years of relevant work experience can be considered.  

English Proficiency: 

  • Students whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate proficiency in the language. To do this, an IELTS overall score of 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each of the four components is required. 
  • Equivalent tests are also accepted.

Cost of Study

For the 2025/26 academic session, the tuition fee to study an MSc in Robotics at Heriot-Watt University is £28,056.

Scholarships

Heriot-Watt University provides a number of scholarships and funding opportunities to international students to reward academic excellence and ease their financial burdens. For instance, the International Merit Scholarship provides a total of £500,000 in scholarships awarded to international students entering the university to study a course. This scholarship is provided as a partial fee waiver, and the value varies by region. Candidates are automatically considered for this scholarship during admission. Therefore, no separate application is required.
