BSc Computer Games Design Development Gameplay

Course Overview

Cardiff Metropolitan University's BSc Computer Game Development (Gameplay) course starts with a Foundation Year. This year helps students build up academic and technical abilities before they start game development. They will then focus on gameplay design, learning how to create engaging and enjoyable experiences for players.

In this course, students will learn how to use industry-standard tools, including game engines such as Unity and Unreal, as well as virtual reality (VR) and console development kits. They will be taught by experienced professionals from the games sector, ensuring they gain the skills needed for a successful career in leading game studios.

Learning is hands-on, with labs, workshops, and group projects. Students will be assessed through coding tasks, examinations, presentations, and written reports to help them build a game portfolio.
