MSc Adult Nursing

Course Overview

The MSc Adult Nursing is for graduates from any academic background. It equips students with the essential knowledge required for a successful career in adult nursing. Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and practise as registered nurses.

Canterbury Christ Church University is a well-regarded institution with campuses in Canterbury and Medway, Kent. Entry Requirements

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement detailing their reasons for applying to the course, along with any relevant academic or work experience. A reference from an academic or employer is also necessary.

Applicants must complete 750 hours of practical experience, which they will document in a Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning (RPEL) portfolio. This portfolio should include proof that they have applied for a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and occupational health clearance. It must also include a personal statement explaining how their previous experience has prepared them for the MSc Nursing programme.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants need at least a 2:1 Bachelor's degree with Honours in any subject or a 2:2 Bachelor's degree with Honours in a health-related subject, such as Biological Sciences, Psychology, or Public Health.
  • Applicants must also hold Mathematics and English GCSE at grade 4-9 (A-C) or Functional Skills Level 2, or an equivalent qualification.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds need to have a minimum overall score of 6.5 in IELTS, with at least 6.0 in the writing section and no less than 5.5 in all other sections.
  • Equivalent Secure English Language Test (SELT) scores are also accepted.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for the MSc Adult Nursing for international students is £15,500 per year.
