Buckinghamshire New University’s MSc Diagnostic Radiography (Pre-Registration) is a two-year postgraduate degree that teaches students from different backgrounds (healthcare, science, engineering, medicine) who want to become HCPC-registered diagnostic radiographers. The course prepares students for a career in medical imaging, with a focus on patient care and team collaboration.
In this course, students will learn radiographic anatomy, physics, and image interpretation, utilising technologies such as X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound. The program utilises online resources, including lectures, practical sessions, and clinical skills training.
Assessments include examinations, coursework, presentations, vivas, OSCEs, portfolios, and case studies.

Grade Requirements
Candidates require at least a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field. Relevant degrees include Medical, Health, Sports, and Science disciplines, such as Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Physiology. Applicants with other degrees and those with experience related to Diagnostic Radiography, such as shadowing, work placements, or access to virtual placements, are also considered.
English Proficiency
International students must have an IELTS overall score of 7.0, with a minimum of 6.5 in each component. Other accepted English qualifications include a Pearson Test of English Academic overall score of 59 with a minimum of 55, a TOEFL iBT overall score of 88, or a Duolingo English Test overall score of 120, with no component score below 110.
