LLB Law with Modern Languages
Course overview
The LLB Law with Modern Languages at Bangor University is a four-year course where you study Law and a foreign language, either French or Spanish. The programme includes a Year Abroad, during which you spend a year studying in a country where your chosen language is spoken.
Studying LLB Law with Modern Languages from Bangor University gives you both a professional legal qualification and valuable cross-cultural expertise. This course not only meets the academic requirements for qualification as a barrister (Bar Standards Board-compliant) but also provides essential knowledge for aspiring solicitors. You can also choose vocational subjects tested in the Solicitors’ Qualifying Examinations (SQE), such as Business Law, Wills and Estates, and Property Practice.
The Modern Languages staff have expertise in areas including translation, film, literature, visual cultures, socio-political change, and transnational cultures. The combined degree helps to develop practical competencies, including research skills, an analytical mind, the ability to listen, form sound arguments, and quickly process complex information.
This degree is a great way to help you stand out when you look for a job, especially in a world that is becoming increasingly connected. If you can speak another language, you will have a clear advantage when working with international clients, foreign offices, or colleagues, whether you work overseas or for an international company in the UK.
