Arts University Bournemouth

Master of Architecture Part 2 ARB RIBA

Arts University Bournemouth

Course overview

The Master of Architecture (Part 2 ARB/RIBA) at Arts University Bournemouth is designed to help students become professional architects. The course mixes design work, practical making, and guided research to help students sharpen their architectural skills.

Students study how buildings and spaces respond to people, culture, and the environment. They also study key areas such as design development, drawing, model-making, and architectural theory, while learning how to take a project from the early idea stage to a full design proposal.

For this programme, teaching happens through studio practice, workshops, lectures, seminars, and regular design critiques. Assessment occurs through design projects, models, portfolios, written work, group feedback sessions, and a final thesis project.

The thesis project in the final stage allows students to build a strong portfolio for future practice. The course is accredited by ARB and RIBA to support students to become registered architects in the UK.
