What is the Chevening Scholarship?
Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations, the Chevening Scholarship is the UK Government’s global scholarship programme that aims to support future leaders, policymakers, and influencers.
Since its launch in 1983, the programme has supported nearly 60,000 scholars from around the world with comprehensive funding with the aim of producing and promoting leaders across the fields.

Who's eligible for the Chevening scholarship?
This isn't for just anyone. Chevening is looking for future leaders with a clear vision and real commitment.
You must:
- Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country (Bangladesh is eligible).
- Commit to returning to Bangladesh for at least two years after graduation.
- Hold a bachelor's degree equivalent to a UK 2:1 honours degree. For Bangladeshi students, this typically means a minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0, a high second-class division, or a grade of 60-65% depending on your university's grading system.
- Have at least two years (2,800 hours) of work experience including full-time, part-time, paid, unpaid, or voluntary work.
- Apply to three eligible UK university courses (Master's degrees) and secure at least one unconditional offer for one of these courses by the specified Chevening deadline.
