The University of Law

MSc Computer Science Conversion

The University of Law

Course overview

The MSc Computer Science (Conversion) at the University of Law is a practical, one-year, full-time master’s degree that helps students without a computing background learn key computing ideas. Students build their understanding of core computing topics like software design, data management, and how to make strong web systems. The course is flexible, and students can pick from three “pathways” to match their interests and career ambitions, which are pure computing, computing in law, or computing in business.

This course is ideal for individuals looking to transition into tech from another field. Students participate in hackathons, live labs, coding exercises, and projects with real companies. By the end, students complete a 60-credit MSc Project where they apply their learning to a real problem. Students are taught using lectures, workshops, teamwork work and live labs. Assessments include coursework (reports, code), group exercises, presentations, and the final MSc project. Students also receive regular feedback to help them improve.
