MSci Biomedical Science
Course overview
The MSci Biomedical Science is an Integrated Master's programme, exploring medical breakthroughs and the processes behind health and disease. Students gain hands-on experience in laboratory settings from their first year of studies, including classes in the anatomy laboratory later in the course. The curriculum covers essential topics like cancer, infectious diseases, vaccine development, and genomics, with teaching underpinned by the research of internationally recognised experts.
The final year of this four-year programme is built to provide a strong theoretical and practical foundation for a research career. Throughout this year, students spend a semester working on individual research projects within a Biomedical Science research team. This structure allows them to develop advanced technical, analytical, and scientific communication skills, producing an enhanced qualification over a standard Bachelor of Science degree.
Entry requirements
Candidates must submit a personal statement, stating their reasons for applying for the course and other related information regarding their studies. A relevant academic or employer reference is also needed. Students have the option to upload their CVs together with their applications to show their work experience.
