BEng Engineering Technologies Top-Up

The BEng Engineering Technologies (Top-Up) at the University of Sunderland allows students to upgrade their existing qualification to a full honours degree within one year. This programme introduces a broad range of engineering systems and concepts, preparing students to thrive in the modern engineering landscape while deepening their understanding of applied engineering technologies.

Students will develop both analytical and management techniques and gain the practical ability to apply them in professional engineering contexts. The course also emphasises ethical and professional standards expected within the field. Learners will explore tools and technologies used to design, model, and analyse engineering systems, processes, and performance.

A key feature of this programme is an individual engineering project, where students undertake research and develop solutions to real-world engineering challenges based on topics they have studied throughout their course.

Grade Requirements:

• Successful completion of an HND or Foundation Degree in a subject related to engineering or technology.
• Completion of 240 credits or equivalent from a recognised UK undergraduate qualification in a relevant field.

English Proficiency:

• IELTS: Overall score of 6.0 with no component below 5.5.
• Equivalent qualifications such as TOEFL and PTE Academic are also accepted.

The tuition fee for international students enrolling in the BEng Engineering Technologies (Top-Up) programme at the University of Sunderland is £16,500.

The University of Sunderland provides a variety of scholarships and financial aid options for international students. The Global Leaders Scholarship offers a £4,500 reduction in tuition fees for new international applicants, automatically applied upon successful admission.

Additionally, select programmes include tuition fee discounts of £1,000 or £3,400 depending on the intake, offering further support to eligible students.
