BSc Nutrition and Human Health with Foundation Year

Course Overview

The University of Suffolk BSc Nutrition and Human Health (with Foundation Year) programme is for students who may lack the necessary scientific background or wish to rebuild confidence before starting the degree. The foundation year will provide you with a foundation in major science disciplines such as Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Mathematics for Science.

After successful completion of the foundation year, students progress straight onto the three-year Association for Nutrition-accredited BSc (Hons) course. The programme focuses on the rigorous scientific components of nutrition, preparing students to become competent nutritionists and researchers with skills readily applied in professional settings or postgraduate study.

Entry Requirements for Indian Students

Candidates are to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying to the course and provide other relevant information about their studies. A satisfactory Health check and an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check are mandatory conditions of any offer. Two satisfactory references are also required as part of the application process.

Grade Requirements

  • Applicants typically require 80 UCAS tariff points or above, which is generally equivalent to A-Level grades of CDD or a BTEC Extended Diploma at MMP.
  • Alternatively, a Pass at A–C* in a T Level is acceptable.

English Proficiency

  • Applicants whose first language is not English need an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in all individual components, or submit equivalent recognised test scores.

Cost of Study

The annual tuition fee for international students on the BSc Nutrition and Human Health (with Foundation Year) at the University of Suffolk is £15,690.
