University of Suffolk

Course overview

The BSc Adult Nursing at the University of Suffolk allows students to learn to improve people’s lives by offering detailed physical, emotional, mental and social support to people of all ages. This programme equips students with the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to independently address the health and care needs of people across the lifespan.

With learning split evenly between theory and practice, adult nursing students will complete various clinical placements throughout the course to develop essential clinical skills in the health environment. Assessment includes essays, assignments, reflective papers and casework that test students' knowledge on adult nursing practice.

The degree is approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), offering graduates the opportunities to progress to a range of careers outside of adult nursing, including further training for midwifery, health visiting, and school nursing. Upon completion of the degree, students gain first-level entry to the NMC Professional Register.
