MSc Applied Statistics in Health Sciences

The MSc Applied Statistics in Health Sciences at the University of Strathclyde is a conversion course that offers students the opportunity to develop skills in statistics and data analysis, even if they never studied statistics before. Students will be supported by academic staff who work closely with industry to develop skills relevant to current areas of research, including population health and medicine, animal and plant health, finance, and business.

In this course, students will gain expertise in data analysis and reporting, effective communication of statistics, and in-depth knowledge of modern statistical methods used to analyse real-life data sets. They will also gain the ability to interpret the output from statistical tests and data analyses and communicate their findings to a variety of audiences, including health professionals, scientists, and government officials.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants typically need a minimum second-class (2:2) Honours degree or overseas equivalent.
• Prospective students with relevant experience or appropriate professional qualifications will also be considered.

English Proficiency:

• Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds need an overall IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each of the four components.
• Alternatively, equivalent qualifications, including PTE and TOEFL, are also accepted.

The annual tuition fee for the MSc Applied Statistics in Health Sciences at the University of Strathclyde is £25,500 for international students per year.
