MSc Advanced Mechanical Engineering

Course Overview

For graduates with a strong engineering background, this MSc programme in Advanced Mechanical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde is an excellent next step. It is designed to give students a deep understanding of complex mechanical topics and equip them with the professional skills needed for senior engineering roles. The course is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), which helps students to attain the Chartered Engineer status.

The course is split into two semesters of classes, followed by an individual project that students will work on from May to August. Students will take some core classes, like "Professional Skills for Senior Engineers," but they will also have a lot of freedom to pick optional classes that let them focus on what they are most interested in, like Aerospace or Energy Systems. Their work will be assessed through exams, written papers, and a final project.
