MEng Naval Architecture with Ocean Engineering

Course Overview

The MEng Naval Architecture with Ocean Engineering at the University of Strathclyde trains you for a career in the marine and offshore industries. The course combines core engineering with modern applications, so you can design ships and structures that help both industry and society.

Strathclyde’s teaching approach is both practical and industry-focused. You will learn through a mixture of lectures, tutorials, laboratory work, and design projects, many of which are based on real-world case studies. Practical sessions in its state-of-the-art facilities that are well equipped with industry-standard tools, let you put theory into action just like a professional engineer.

Your progress will be measured by using different methods to test your skills and knowledge. These include written exams, technical reports, presentations, group design projects (such as creating a prototype wave energy device), and coursework. In your final year, you will have an individual project, where you can showcase your creativity and technical expertise.
