Course overview

The BA (Hons) Business Analysis & Technology at the University of Strathclyde is for those who want to learn how to apply advanced analytical methods to business problems. The course is the first step towards getting full professional accreditation with the Operational Research Society of the UK. You will learn how a business works and how to use technology to address specific management issues. Studying Business Analysis & Technology at the University of Strathclyde will equip you with a strong business mind that will help your career.

In Year 1, you will be introduced to key managerial and operational issues and techniques. You will learn a range of modelling techniques and discuss the practical problems and opportunities of using technology in business. In Years 2 and 3, you will be shown how to use analytical models and problem-solving methods in real business situations. You will also learn about the management challenges that come with new technology. You will work individually and in teams to develop practical management skills. In the final year, you will get the chance to work on a major project for a client organisation.

Entry requirements

Grade Requirements:

 

  • The requirements for this course are A-levels with grades of ABB to BBB.

  • If you are an International Baccalaureate student, you will need between 30 and 32 points.

  • For an HNC or HND, you will need a relevant qualification with an A in the Graded Units.

 

English Proficiency:

 

  • Non-native speakers of English are to show proficiency in English by having an overall IELTS score of 6.5 (or equivalent) with at least 5.5 in each of the four components.

  • Asylum Seeker Scholarship

    Value: Cost of tuition fees and essential study costs.

  • BBA International Scholarship

    25% fee reduction per year (three years in total).

  • Faculty of Engineering International Scholarship for Undergraduate Study

    Value: 15% of tuition fees for each year of study - typically £4,650 for first year.

  • Faculty of Science Undergraduate Scholarships for International Students

    Scholarships of between £6,000 - £7,000 per year of study are available to new international students joining an eligible undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Science in the 2026/27 academic year.

  • Humanities & Social Sciences: Undergraduate International Dean's Excellence Scholarship

    Value: £5,000 per year of academic study.

  • Strathclyde Business School Dean's Excellence Awards (Undergraduate)

    Value: 25% fee reduction per year.

  • Undergraduate Scholarships for Physics International Students

    Scholarships of £7,000 per year of study are available to new international students.
