Course overview

The MSc Data Science at the University of South Wales comprises six essential modules, arranged in two streams, providing flexibility for workers. The programme uses a hybrid learning method, which includes both in-person lectures and digital material, and guarantees a minimum of three hours of direct weekly interaction for each module (except the MSc project).

Learning includes tutor-led seminars and self-directed studies through a virtual learning environment that uses resources such as DataCamp and AWS Educate/Academy. Evaluation is carried out via course assignments, including reports, presentations, and programming assignments.

Entry requirements

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants are required to have a minimum 2:2 Honours degree or equivalent in a numerate discipline across any STEM or business subject.

  • Relevant industry experience can also be taken into account.

 

English Language Requirements:

  • Candidates whose first or primary language is not English will usually need an overall IELTS score of 6.0, with no component score below 5.5.
