The BSc (Hons) Real Estate (including Foundation Year) programme at the University of South Wales is designed for students who do not yet satisfy the standard entry criteria for direct admission to a BSc (Hons) Real Estate. The foundation year of this four-year course introduces basic concepts related to the built environment, thereby establishing a foundation for students to progress onto the main degree.
The main part of the degree has the official approval of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). It teaches important subjects like how to value properties, manage assets, understand planning rules, and consider sustainability. Students learn by looking at projects and hearing from people who work in the industry.
The learning methods used in this course include lectures, seminars, workshops, and practical projects. Assessment methods include examination, coursework, and project work.
The University of South Wales (USW) is a government-funded university in Wales that was formed in 2013 when two other universities joined together. USW is where you'll find the National Cyber Security Academy. This is a special project that the university started with businesses and the Welsh Government. It's the first academy of its type in the UK and was set up to help train more people in cybersecurity because there aren't enough skilled workers in this area. The academy focuses on giving students practical training so they are ready to work after they graduate.
