If you already hold an HND or equivalent qualification and want to develop a career in people management, the Business Management (Human Resource Management) (Top-Up) at the University of South Wales offers a practical and focused route to a full bachelor’s degree.

The University of South Wales (USW) was formed in 2013 through the merger of the University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport. Entry Requirements

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants should have completed an HND in Business Studies or Business & Accounting, a Foundation Degree in Business Studies, Service Sector Management, or Retail Management. 
  • Equivalent qualifications, such as a Diploma in Higher Education or ILM Level 5 in Leadership and Management, are also accepted. 

English Proficiency: 

  • International applicants are required to have an overall IELTS score of 6.0, with no component below 5.5. Alternatively, a TOEFL score of 72 is accepted, with minimum scores of 18 in reading, 17 in listening, 20 in speaking, and 17 in writing, or an equivalent qualification.

Cost of Study

For the 2025/2026 session, the tuition fee to study Business Management (Human Resource Management) (Top-Up) at the University of South Wales is £15,850.

Scholarships

International students at the University of South Wales can benefit from a range of scholarships designed to ease the cost of studying in the UK. The Chancellor’s International Development Scholarship offers a tuition fee reduction of £2,500 per year. Those who complete the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) process early may also be eligible for the Early CAS Scholarship, which provides an additional £500 fee reduction each year if deadlines in May or October are met.

Applicants from the EU may take advantage of the EU Student Scholarship, which allows them to pay tuition fees at the same rate as UK students for the entire length of their course. These scholarships are awarded automatically, based on academic achievement or early application, highlighting the university’s commitment to making higher education accessible to students worldwide.
