Course overview

The BA Sports Management with Foundation Year at the University of Roehampton is designed for students who have a passion for sports and want to pursue a career in the field. Students will develop expertise in business strategy, leadership and sports operations to succeed in this fast-growing global industry.

The foundation year in this course is for students who may not meet the direct entry requirement or those who want to acquire the necessary skills required to begin the full degree. Students will develop academic and Communication skills, data analysis and research skills, foundations of sport management, and principles of sports research.

In this course, students will learn from expert tutors and be mentored by industry leaders, participate in dynamic and interactive lectures, and collaborate in workshops and team-based simulations, exploring real-world case studies. The assessment methods include presentations, podcasts, live consultancy projects, real briefs from clubs, brands, and agencies, and a final-year capstone project.

Entry requirements

Interested applicants are required to submit a personal statement discussing their interest in the BA Sports Management with Foundation Year and provide any relevant experience. Two references from an academic or employer are required. Applicants can upload a CV to show previous study or work experience.

Grade Requirements:

Applicants typically need 64 UCAS Tariff points.
Alternatively, applicants with a Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma - MPP can also apply.

English Proficiency:

Non-English speaking students need an IELTS score of 6.0 overall with a minimum 5.5 in each component.
Accepted alternatives include PTE and TOEFL.
