MSc Music Technology

Course Overview

This MSc in Music Technology is a blend of practical, theoretical and creative experiences in areas such as recording and production, digital music systems and software, sound design and composition for film or video gaming. Students plan and complete a personal project, receiving expert support to develop their professional practice, which equips them with the technical and creative tools needed for a career in the creative and media industries.

Students are taught through lectures, seminars and workshops, and spend around 30 hours per week on independent study, and one day a week on campus for those studying full‑time and are assessed through written portfolios and practical projects, with formative and summative feedback throughout.

Facilities include professional music and sound recording studios, and the Centre for Creative and Immersive Extended Reality (CCIXR) are used in training students of this course.

Entry Requirements for Indian Students

Applicants for the MSc Music Technology at the University of Portsmouth must submit a personal statement explaining their reasons for applying and relevant academic or professional experience. Grade Requirements:
