BSc Economics, Finance and Banking

Course Overview

This Bachelor of Science (Economics) Honours degree in Economics, Finance and Banking is taught at the University of Portsmouth's London campus in Walthamstow. The course aims to develop strong skills in economics, finance, and banking within a major global financial centre.

The program uses a structured timetable and block teaching method, with smaller class sizes. This allows students to concentrate on one subject at a time and benefit from significant individual support from academics.

The teaching approach involves primarily in-person sessions, including workshops, seminars, tutorials, practical exercises, and group discussions. Assessments for the course include written reports, oral presentations, portfolios, examinations, and a final dissertation.

The course also features assessments based on real-world scenarios, interactive learning techniques, guest speakers from the industry, talks from local businesses, and opportunities to work with actual business data.
