University of Essex

Course overview

The BSc Sports Therapy at the University of Essex is a programme accredited by the Society of Sports Therapists, and aims to produce skilled practitioners ready for professional roles. The programme covers essential areas including injury prevention, assessment, and treatment, alongside rehabilitation techniques. Students explore the scientific grounding of the profession, studying underpinning concepts in physiology, psychology, biomechanics, and nutrition.

A practical element is central to learning, with students gaining between 200 and 250 hours of clinical placement experience.
