Entry Requirements

  • Applicants should submit a personal statement outlining their interest in the programme alongside letters of recommendation and academic transcripts.

  • Applicants may consider uploading their CV, should it showcase significant experience in the field.

Grade Requirements:

  • Qualifications equivalent to UK A-levels in a related field. The typical grade range is BBB-BBC or 112-120 UCAS tariff points from a minimum of 2 full A-levels.

  • BTEC: DDM - DMM or 120 - 112 UCAS tariff points from a minimum of the equivalent of 2 full A-levels. The acceptability of BTECs is dependent on subject studies and optional units taken.

  • International Baccalaureate: An overall score of 30 points in three Higher Level subjects.

English Proficiency:

  • Non-native English speakers may need to demonstrate proficiency in the language, typically through an IELTS overall score of at least 6.0. Alternative qualifications are also accepted. Applicants should note that the validity period of the Pearson Test of English, TOEFL and CBSE is 2 years.

Cost of Study

For international students enrolling in the BA Management Economics at the University of Essex, the tuition fees for the 2025/26 academic session are £21,300. Fees will increase for each academic year of study.
